Skate park upgrade opens at school holiday fun day

10 July 2014

150 people attended the opening of the upgraded skate park on McDowall Street to see skating demonstrations, a skate-off competition and graffiti workshop.  Local kids and the Clearview Rise community have benefitted from a $158,000 upgrade to the local skate and bike park, which opened last week as part of Maranoa Regional Council’s Holiday Program.

Economic Development Queensland was proud to contribute $75,000 to the park upgrade and gift a $13,000 shade sail to provide year-round protection from the sun for park users.

The upgraded skate park is only a short stroll to park in the Clearview Rise estate, which provides a great open space for the local community, with plenty of green space to kick a ball and have a family picnic using the BBQ facilities and tables.
